Penn State Blue Band: Sounds from the Century (1999) Celebrating the 100th anniversary of the band, this CD takes a musical retrospective of Blue Band sounds from the past, reclaimed from recordings going back to 1955. The earliest piece, “The Stars and Stripes Forever,” was composed by John Philip Sousa and recorded as part of Penn State's centennial celebration. The musical history's newest composition is a 1997 Big Ten Medley, arranged by John Tagenhorst to celebrate Penn State entry into the Big Ten Conference.
